Hospitality Shines at the Hampton Inn
On Tuesday we visited the Hampton Inn in Wichita Falls.
In this video Debbie Ripperger, General Manager, discusses with us what she looks for in prospective employees during the interview process and how the National Career Readiness Certificate correlates to the hotel.
Pamela started in the kitchen and later moved on to become a Guest Services Associate. She learned on the job how to use the computers and run the front desk. Pamela said, “Teamwork is very important, you need to have a can-do and will-do attitude. It’s all about hospitality and service.”

Jennifer Tansey of the Holiday Inn Express in Wichita Falls discusses the different skills that they look for when hiring. They see the National Career Readiness Certificate as a tool for finding people who would be a good fit for front desk and event staff.

Kristi Faulkner, Senior Director of Human Resources of United Regional Health Care System recently shared with us some insights about what they look for in potential employees. She gives some advice to help your application stand out. She says they emphasize the importance of “soft skills” such as customer service, longevity and people who see their job in healthcare as a calling.
Kristi says, “The great thing about the National Career Readiness Certificate from an employers perspective, is that if somebody comes in with it, it tells me they are serious. It tells me they are willing to take personal responsibility for their future.”
